Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix

I've been to the latest Harry Potter movie on sunday.My first of the whole lot that were released so far.Well HP turned out to be good but can't watch it more than once kind.

And i must really thank my friend who patiently sat with me & introduced all the characters.The first 10 mins was something outta magic box kind to me (i didn't read the book) but then yeah the movie kinda captured my attention for the next 2hrs.No breaks & it's been a long since i enjoyed an English movie (Ocean's Thirteen doesn't count ofcourse) and i understood that the director really has a way to capture everyone's tastes - from a 5 yr old to a 40+ person which is simply amazing.Given the hype created about the movie & the book, i almost thought it too be yet another much hyped movies but then it definitely proved otherwise.

HP all in all was kewl & entertaining unlike some of the recent flicks i had the pleasure of watching :)

A 1000 Splendid Suns

When i bought the book all i was interested was just about the way the author had given the brief.But it turned out to be a real big surprise to me as i completed it at one go.

The story is about a little girl Mariam who grows in a remote village of Afghanistan & the way she's married to someone thrice her age & sent off to Kabul.How her life changes after that,how she copes with a husband who as days pass by changes into a volatile person.And then comes the part when Mujhahids occupy Afghanistan,their gruesome rule & the way each and every person's life change because of the same.At the same time we also get to see another young gal whose ife again changes after a single missile attack & how she gets attached to Mariam's life.Then the rule of Taliban..

It's all about 2 women who give up lot of things in their life,settle down in the same house as wives of one volatile mean husband who ends up getting killed one night by Mariam.And how Mariam makes the decision of accepting the crime but at the sametime makes a new life for Laila ,her daughter & son.You get to read about the extreme cruelties of every single person during theTaliban period has gone through & not to forget the period before that.And not to mention lot of good moments where in you get to read about how big the word TITANIC meant to them then.

Somewhere this book definitely touches a raw chord in every single reader.But then again some might get easily bored with the same.Afterall opinions differ - Don't they

Aataa - Jhoom Bharabar Jhoom..That's how i would rate JBJ.As pathetic as it can get and i couldn't wait to get outta the movie hall for both the movies.Ocean's Thirteen on the other hand was good (can't expect anything else) atleast better when compared to those mentioned earlier.With this i think am done with my movies as of now atleast coz i never seem to get the tickets for the oh-so-great SIVAJI anyways.
Back at work,right now in Indore on a consultant jobfair which turned out to be a dampner,thanx to the rains and people giving the same excuse for not turning up here at the consultant's place.3 days of journey & nothing fruitful.
