In Gol land

It's been a month since i have blogged.Too manythings, but the best of all is my move toHyderabad.Couldn't ask for more with just in time for my appraisal & complete move to recruitment. Now comes the tough part of food & langauge.I can manage telugu but the Hindi they speak here is BAD :) So much goingon here & never a moment of boredom.Feels a lot different to what i have gone thru in Chennai.Hope to see best of it in the days to come. All said &done,i miss Chennai..Miss it big time.Miss my home &miss my Chennai office

Have been to Golconda fort & Charminar. The former was super if you can just forget people throwing litter around, inscribing their love on the walls of the fort (bahhhhhhhh) :) & the latter, well i have no words..Charminar has no CHARM.We were actually disappointed rather disgusted the way it's being maintained & the crowd and the list goes on & on & on.The picture you see here in my blog, don't get fooled. :) It's nothing like this when you see the actual thing

The next time someone is going to talk about Hyd and Charminar as the most beautiful thing on earth, they sure will get a piece of my mind.Man thatz one trip which i really wanna take off my list & mind

Life Minus Sinus

Life minus sinus for me is a dream..It all started sometime last year when my doc said i have chronic Sinusitis.I then had no knowledge on that but then was on medication for a while which gave me temp relief for about 4 months. The next thing i knew was that my teeth has been affected because of the same & had it removed early this month. And now i know how chronic is Chronic Sinusitis. It's called Maxillary Sinusitis. And then my ENT doc told me that the mucus has hardened in my skull, infact he went a step further & explained "It's like water dripping in droplets & then turning into ice or frost or whatever & in my case it's the same way that my mucus has become hard".With that came lotsa instructions, list of dos & donts.Gave him a vague smile when i stepped out.People in my office are used to seeing me with a box of tissues in my desk & no longer make fun. These days they just give me a smile - an all knowing smile which says sorry gal but you gotto live with it.And now it's melting. After struggling with the goddamn thing for almost an year it's melting & iam not complaining. For almost a week i've been blowing out mucus so much that even my ENT doc was surprised.Like Krishna said i think all this while it has been some kinda cold storage & like how my sis commented the other day that my auto defrost system is up & running :)

Say whatever like said in the first line..it's just a dream & hoping that one day am off it.

R&R

Long weekend but an amazing one like it had been never before.Met a very good friend of mine after almost 3 yrs & was catchingup for a long time with him.It was good & made me realise that i do need to spend sometime with my friends & my family too.But the best part about the weekend was the wedding which we attended.Much as i was sceptical in attending that one,i htink i wudda missed something had i not gone there. Was pure fun & never before had i seen a procession like this in my family. And to think all along that my mom's side is orthodox. It was pure to dance with the groom when the groom came back to the mandap and i still remember th look on the bride's face.Shock, surprise & then the acceptance.Vibrant & colorful is all i can say about the marriage & ofcourse the same goes for the weekend too.

R&R is how i feel now :)

Guru !!!!!!

GURU - Latest addition in my audio collection.

Starts off with Barso Re by Shreya Ghosal & Uday.Awesome way she takes you to a high right in the first track. Then comes my personal fav which is Tere bina by our man Rahman & Chinmayee..Perfect synchronization, can't expect anything less ofcourse. It basically has got a Sufi kinda beatWay too good. The next 1 is kinda ok which goes something like Ek lo ek muft.In Mayya you get to feel the taste of Rahman's speciality again..Very good beat & again takes you to a middle eastern kinda song.Ae Hairathe Aashiqui starts the same way as Tere Bina and with voices of Hariharan & Alka it only adds a feather to the whole album.Baazi laga well not all that great esp when Madhushree sings,u definitely will feel the slack.

Last but not the least & the best in the whole lot is Jaage Hain.Rahman & Chitra..Man they give a new dimension altogether. Not much of background of music & Chitra croons over with her soft voice & all of a sudden you get to hear Rahman's voice in a high pitch & in a different tempo. This song brings tears to my eyes everytime i listen to it.And can only be enjoyed if one understands the depth of the song..Rather the soul. Thanks to Gulzar & Rahman, they have once more created the magic..

Last 3 days

3 more days & one more year gone. It's been a great year for me interms of gaining good friends, change of job (for the better) & last but not the least the shift to Hyderabad.Only wish that it could have happened a bit earlier than this. Not that am cribbing.Am fine with the shift inspite of the hardship am gonna face there.

On the darker side,i have ended up hurting few but am trying to correct that. It's tough building back the trust but hey am not complaining afterall am the reason for all that happened. I can never undo what has already been done but i'll atleast try not to err again in the same way.

To ERR is afterall human & am one :)

Hats off

Judgment

It's strange that almost a week after Soren gets his verdict, the Delhi High Court is all set to give it's verdict for yet another high profile case - Jessica Lall's this time. But what irked me was the way our man Mr.Oh - so- Prejudiced - Jethmalani twisted the whole case around & way by which killing the already dead person once more but this time in a more sick way.And surpising that this case has it's own set of twists n turns like the Best Bakery case and it's key witness Zaheera who was the talk of the nation for a while. Will our judicial system give a verdict which is convincing enough; afterall it's we who brought back the case through repeated petitions to our Hon'ble President through media.

Will Manu Sharma & Vikas Yadav be given life sentence? Will our HC react the same way to Nitish Katara's case the same way it did? Will Shyam Munshi ever realise the damage he has done?Or will our Ram Jethmalani reveal the 'actual killer' according to his words?

Well it's time for us to wait n see afterall it's judgment day today

If only

What a way to start the week. Here in office by 9.15 & cursing myself as to why i missed my opportunity to speak up.Probably should try & get to watch the Airtel ad again :) Power games are something am used to but what am not is the dirty way it's being played here. And to say i have no control in this is putting it very mildly.

The other thing that's been bothering me for a while now is the way a certain friendship which is going down the drain. When i make friends it's mostly for a lifetime and that's the way it has been always. But maybe i expect too much out of them or maybe am not upto their league,it just hurts when someone becomes a virtual stranger all of a sudden.Yeah i accept that i do pickup fights but hey that's what best buddies are for & to make up.How do i put it across that whatever he's doing is just creating a rift between the both of us.But i think there's no point in just me saying all these coz that's what i hear fromt he other end too.

Kaashhhhhh......

Justice

"Soren, who was brought from Tihar Jail, looked pale and was shocked on hearing the sentence."
Very funny isn't it when the family of the victim wants death sentence for Soren. One can understand their feelings..Waiting & fighting for 12 long yrs.

That makes me wonder as to how Sidhu is going to react when his time comes & ofcourse not to forget Manu Sharma & Vikas Yadav.. ;) Afterall, 'you reap what you sow'

And just read the news that Sidhu has been given 3yrs RI & for which he signed a bail bond yesterday.WTF

Attitude

What a week the past week was..2 untimely deaths, one in family & one out had left me shocked & to say both passed away in Cardiac arrest. The one in my family made me sit back and also made me realise that am taking too much advantage whe it comes to health related issues.Made me fix an appointment with the ENT in the coming week & also made me realise that even am scared of death.Well i was always that kinda person who thought if n when the time comes i'll have to leave the world but hey now am scared..Don't want to die young just coz am careless. Now that's one thing.

Another incident that happened was the change in my office. One major change & well am not happy either but then as i always say "Change is the only permanent thing in life" & we gotto moveon. It's just the way as to how we react to those changes is what makes a difference.Easier said than done as am in the same transition phase and not different from my colleagues here. And i can easily understand as to why they are putoff.Attitude - am seeing the way it's actually breaking the team spirit.Makes me believe in only one thing "To Different Minds, the same world is Hell and Heaven" & as to how true it is.I only hope that this change is not permanent & that we get back to our normal routine

Heaven for some & hell for some.Isn't that true :)

Er...Angrezziii Accent

A friend of mine had actually sent me another bloglink the other day which i found very interesting.Uma to be very frank i personally feel that we must have that published probably where well some of us can read & enjoy such things.

Which brings me back to the topic on accent. All through my 4 yrs of exp with a consulting firm i have personally taken charge of some BPO clients exclusively for which i have been through the general V n A session.Phonetics is pure fun.Only tough thing is to actually get an agent understand where he / she have to roll their tongue, where you have to be light on pronounciation & it goes on and on.And i find it very funny when people put out a fake US accent which in the end makes them sound mmm shall we say funny to the customer who is actually holding the call on the other end.Similarly today morning,a team member suddenly switched over to the oh so funny sounding accent & i was ROTFL.And his explanation..Ramaa i thought they will check out my accent too since these guys are from the floor..As to accent i personally feel it's UK which is the BEST & not the oh so kewl US which sadly most of su follow. Can never understand as to what these guys achieve by this except for the fact that they turn out to be laughing stock to others. One more funny incident was when someone started with a very normal accent & then switched over to US accent after a while. And when asked about the change he replied saying that he has got to starting problem when it comes to it.

Phew. For heaven's sake grow up folks and get a grip.

Moral values we have..Does it differ

Just read Rashmi's blog on the accident that took place in Mumbai early this week. The accident which left 7 dead & the same one in which the driver may as well walk off scott free.Reminds me of something similar which took place couple of days back on my way back home but not as ghastly as the one which happened in Mumbai. The driver of the car who hit the guy in bike never bothered to even look back but was apparently brought back by the mob after a tough hopeless chase. But after all this hungama our man walks off with nothing - reason being that he stuffed some amount in the injured person's hand.

And what really got me thinking is the fact that the party who got injured is fine with it as the other person has given him money. And sad part is; that he was taken to a hospital nearby by a couple who were passing by in their four wheeler & not by the person who hit him.Wat a stark contrast to the way the guy who met with the accident & the guy who hit him behaved.Made me understand that there are some good souls who actually come forward & help inspite of whatever be their personal reactions to the case maybe. One more incident & one more guy walking free.Don't we see a pattern setting in here.No amount of media publicity is going to help because inspite of everything single citizen fighting against such things we see the prime accused off the loop.I don't blame these folks who don't speak up or take it any further action.Where's the courage to stand up against people who have everything for them & can have every single witness turn hostile.

Phew..back to where i started,it's all about core values & moral ethics you have been brought up with. And in most such cases we see the accused being from a very affluent family. That makes me wonder...

Gyaan

I won't call myself a 'Paragon of Virtue' but at the same time i have my own values.Yeah there have been many times in the past couple of months when i have stepped out of them & depicted a different picture i usually make it a point that i stick to my own values.Things that have been going around me for the past few days have made me realise that am better off than some of my peers. Not that i have ever lied but yeah now i know as to how the other person would have felt when i did the same.Except that this revolves around my work & am in deep shit coz of certain things which were taken for granted from their end on me.

I hate melodramatic statements & coming from guys that's all that will take to put off a guy whatever be the relationship you have with him..Maybe professional or may even be personal. And somehow these days inspite of me being in this corporate world, inspite of me having made good friends,i miss something..And to an extent i actually know what it is - Freedom.Freedom to do things independently & come out with effective results, freedom to actually put across my thoughts and not feel baffled by someone on the other end.

If only the haze clears..Wishful thinking is what i can hear myself saying.

Oh hell..There i go again, losing my kewl over something trivial and something that doesn't hold any importance at all.Blame it on my quick temper but yeah i just decided one thing today.Never to lose kewl & god help me that way..

Miles to go before i sleep

Patience is a virtue said someone yeah i do agree with it but not when they are in my shoes.First thing in my official trip to Bangalore,i pissed off a colleague of mine who was trying to pull his weight around. And from then on i became his first come first serve based person to find fault.Am fine with taking bullshit but not to that extent that i need to listen to some dumb creepo.I come back & here am non stop inoffice with temp & cold with my VP around. And still waiting to sign off for the day which just seems to be far far far thing right now.

No wonder Frost aptly said & which suits me well :

"And miles to go before i sleep
And miles to go before i sleep"

Bangalore..

I reached Chennai this morning from an official trip to Bangalore & man am happy.Infact i discovered some shocking things which put me off the 2 days i was there in my office & from where i made a hasty exit about 4PM last evening.Made me thank my Manager here in Chennai & the team here. But yeah the plus of being in Bangalore is my stay with Ajay,Keerthi & Steve..You rock esp when i thought that Steve as an introvert but hey you made me eat my words. And Shwetha too..

Only plus like i mentioned earlier in me coming for a training or for anthing to Bangalore henceforth is the stay in Ajay's place & well i have nothing to say about the official trip except that i have made 4 new friends.God help them!!!

And Krishna i really did miss you in Bangalore..Shudda made it da :(

Diwali - De javu

One more diwali gone.Like every other it's been happening this year too i wokeup at my usual 8AM with the regular background stuff going on :) Thanks to my mom,she always makes it a point to drive her point right through & make me feel guilty..Not that she does this intentionally it's just that she can't help being herself. So this diwali too it's the same old wishing friends, watching TV & yeah catchup with sleep in the noon which i did for about 3 hrs or so..Which made me think about the good old days during my childhood & the way i used to celebrate Diwali as a kid.So many changes or rather evolutions should i call them.Made me remember the innocent kid in me who used to go bonkers at the approaching festival & start the countdown with the other kids in the neighbourhood.Getting up early morning & getting dressed before everyone. The childish fights during the time to prove each other about the courage to burst the biggest mean cracker which was a 1000wala or a hydrogen bomb at that point of time :)I had a sudden strong sense of De javu about all the diwalis i had spent in Kumbakonam & just realised that those days will never come back again.

Fanaa

Fanaa has been my fav song from the moment i heard it & it still is.Something about the song always peps me & takes me to a different altitude altogether. No matter how down n upset am,Fanaa always lifts my spirit.Thinking of which,i realised i have lotsa songs esp Nilavadhumu from Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana ,RHTDM from RHTDM that has the same kinda effect on me but nothing to beat Fanaa. And right now it's Munbe Vaa which is following closely to get in the Fanaa league & i'll not be surprised if it does.I don't wanna repeat again but this song with Shreya & Naresh is refreshing in the era of some jutka numbers which we have been hearing offlate. Not that all songs are that way,for instance there's Manjal Veyil from Vettayadu Vilayadu which is good,Sudum nilavu which saw UnniKrishnan back with his golden voice along with Harini & ofcourse Pani thuli from Kanda Naal Mudhal.

Brings us back to hard reality of vulgar lyrics & not to mention some very obscene movements.Gosh!!!Will we ever get some more tracks which are pleasing just not on ears but on eyes too in future like the ones mentioned here..GOK
